Mauro Russo Rouge was born on September 24, 1979, in Castel San Giorgio (Salerno). In 2014, he made his first feature film, Censurado: Ode to Love, which was selected for several international festivals: Sanford (USA), San Antonio (USA), Veracruz (Mexico), and Rome (Italy). His second feature film, Aberrant, premiered in March 2017, participating in numerous international festivals and winning Best Film at the Texas Independent Film Festival and the Sutter Creek International Film Festival. His third feature film, IRA, was presented at the 42nd Denver Film Festival and was released in Italian theaters in November 2019, distributed by Mescalito Film. His fourth feature film, C.L.A.B. (2020), is an action movie entirely without dialogue, and it was acquired for the North American  market by Osiris \ Paragon. Bloom Up (2021), his fifth film, marked the director’s debut in documentary filmmaking. It was sold in the USA, Germany, South Korea, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Poland, Spain, and Taiwan, and was selected for Hot Docs Toronto 2021, Biografilm 2021, and Atlantida Mallorca FilmFest 2021. Radiopornopanda (2022) is his second documentary, focused on eroticism. It was acquired for the German market by Donau Film and was distributed in Italy by I Wonder Pictures. The TV rights were purchased by Sky Cielo. The Last Playboy (2023) concludes his erotic trilogy, with TV rights also owned by Sky Cielo. Bostik, La Bodega de D10S (2025) is his latest documentary. Mauro Russo Rouge is currently planning a return to fictional filmmaking.
