Straughan’s Hilary Mantel adaptation Wolf Hall (BAFTA and Golden Globe winner) aired on BBC television and its forthcoming sequel, Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light, is currently in production. His next project, Folio, examines the story behind a collection of Shakespeare’s works that were assembled seven years after his death.
Peter Straughan first became a sought-after screenwriter when he penned the screenplay for Grant Heslov’s The Men Who Stare at Goats, an adaptation of Jon Ronson’s book that starred George Clooney. He went on to write John Madden’s The Debt, starring Helen Mirren, and Lenny Abrahamson’s Frank, starring Michael Fassbender. Straughan’s other adaptations include Our Brand Is Crisis, starring Sandra Bullock, and The Goldfinch, directed by John Crowley.
