Synopsis
Meng Ran, an accomplished poet, travels by train through memories that resurface like inner landscapes: a serene childhood in the mountains with his grandfather, guardian of tradition and the bond with nature, and a youth marked by suspicion and violence in the industrial city at the height of the Cultural Revolution.
In that climate of suspicion and mistrust, Meng Ran meets Chen Yi Qing, a young and brilliant doctor who, like him, feels out of place in the chaos around them. Between them arises a pure bond, opposed by society and destined to break. As the years pass, the memory of her continues to accompany Meng Ran, guiding him in his search for inner peace and acceptance of his past.
